In cities, suburbs, and towns, mostly removed from the wild, it’s easy for us to discard the gravity of the loss of a distant ideal. But dear world, once you lose a species, you have lost a species for ever. We’re going down a trajectory from which we can’t backtrack. As a society are we really going to value concrete jungles, flashy electronics, and processed foods over the illusive and impossible to truly understand realm of the wild?
